This blog post aims to give you tips on how to prepare and pass your Nuxt certification exam and help you understand the structure of the exam a little bit better. If you’re nervous or don’t know what to expect, this is for you.
So let’s start with a general picture of how certification exams look like on this platform.
The exam has two main parts: Multiple Choice Questions and Coding Challenges.
You’ll get 30 minutes to go over 30 questions. It’s up to you how long to spend on each question. You also get to go over all your answers before starting Coding Challenges and change any answer if needed.
In order to pass, you need to have at least 21 correct answers.

There are usually two coding challenges you need to resolve. One smaller one, where most of the code already works but it has a bug you need to fix, and a more elaborate one, where you need to build a feature. You have a total of 1 hour and 45 mins to go over both challenges so be careful with your time. All the requirements for each challenge is written in detail in the README files.
In this section, you will be working in our in-house code editor (or Stackblitz) and you can use the devtools to inspect elements or check the network tab. You also have a side panel with official Nuxt and MDN docs (since you’re not allowed to open a new tab yourself).

During the exam, advanced proctoring measures have been put in place to ensure the fairness of the results. The below constraints will be visible to you before your exam and you can read them before your time starts. You have to check them and agree with them before your exam starts.
Exam questions and challenges are made in close collaboration with Sebastian Chopin, creator or Nuxt, and more Nuxt experts in the community. This involvement ensures we're testing the right competencies for you to start mastering the Nuxt Framework.
To prepare for the exam, you can find a tailored self-training preparation program with many questions and small challenges. This guides shows you what topics are more present for each exam level. We have also prepared a number of mock exams than you take take unlimitedly.
Additionally, you can also read the official Nuxt documents to pass the exam the best you can. The questions directly reflect the official docs. More than that, there are some other topics you could read about before you take the exam: vue, nitro, h3, vite, hydration mechanisms, pinia, common testing tools like vitest, …
Do a mock, skim the docs, and you’ll be in a really good place to ace the exam in no time.
