certification.why

TypeScript is the language of modern software And AI made it the default

Every major framework now sets up new projects in TypeScript. GitHub says AI is one of the big reasons. Types tell AI exactly what your code expects, so it guesses less, and you can catch problems before the code ever runs.

TypeScript certification (Mid‑Level)

Hi,

I'd like to take the Mid‑Level TypeScript Certification from certificates.dev.

It's a proctored exam where I write real TypeScript in a real project and an examiner reviews the code, so it shows exactly where my skills stand. TypeScript is at the core of what we ship, so it's worth having that verified.

It's a one-off cost with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Could it come out of our learning budget?

Thanks

How the exam proves it From home, supervised from start to finish

A practical exam Real coding challenges, not just multiple choice

The Mid‑Level and Senior exams pair multiple choice with practical coding challenges, so they assess both what you know and what you can do.

  • Multiple choice

Questions on the concepts behind each level: 50 at Junior, 40 at Mid‑Level and Senior. Junior is multiple choice only.

  • Hands-on coding challenges

At Mid‑Level and Senior, 2 coding challenges in a real project, so you show what you can do and not only what you know.

  • Proctored, from home

Online, whenever you're ready, with an ID check and webcam. Automated tests run first, then an examiner reads your code.

Questions before you buy

Still deciding?

Get certified

Or write to team@certificates.dev

Is it official, or endorsed by Microsoft?

There is no official TypeScript certification, and this one isn't endorsed by Microsoft or the TypeScript team. It's independent, and the exams are written and reviewed by our examination board.

What is the exam format?

Junior is 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes. Mid‑Level and Senior combine 40 multiple-choice questions with 2 practical coding challenges in 135 minutes. Every exam is timed.

Can I use AI during the exam? How is it kept fair?

No AI. The exam is proctored with an ID check and a webcam, and AI assistants stay off from start to finish, so your certificate shows what you can do on your own. Anyone caught cheating is disqualified from that attempt, and an account caught three times is locked for good.

Do I need a camera to take the exam?

Yes. You need a webcam to meet the proctoring requirements. Our article explains how exam proctoring works in detail.

Can I go straight to Senior?

Yes. No level requires the one below it. Senior builds on everything Mid‑Level covers, which is why the Mid‑Level + Senior bundle includes both exams.

Can a beginner take it?

Start with Junior. It tests consuming types and suits developers new to TypeScript, as long as you already write JavaScript comfortably. You don't need the JavaScript certification, or any other, first.

Do I have to take the training?

No. The self-study training and the bootcamps are optional. There are many ways to prepare, including reading the TypeScript Handbook and documentation, taking online courses, and building hands-on projects, on your own or at work.

Can I add training or a bootcamp later?

Yes. You can add the self-study training, or the bootcamp workshops, to any purchase you have already made. Bootcamps are offered for Mid‑Level and Senior.

When do I get my result?

Within 5 business days. Automated tests run first, then an examiner reviews your code.

What if I don't pass? Can I retake it?

Yes. You can retake the exam as soon as you feel ready, using an exam retake voucher. There is no limit on how many times you can try, and retake vouchers are offered at a discounted rate. Mid‑Level and Senior are timed and include real coding challenges, so if you're unsure, work through the preparation guide and the self-study training, or join a bootcamp.

How long is my certificate valid?

3 years from the day you pass. Exam vouchers are also valid for 3 years from purchase, so you can buy a bundle now and take your time getting ready.

Do employers recognize this certification?

Certifications on certificates.dev are designed as real hiring and promotion signals. All exams are scenario-based, with real code assessments, and many certificate holders add theirs directly to LinkedIn to stand out in interviews and promotions.

How is the training different from a Udemy or YouTube course?

Courses teach TypeScript in general. The training here is built around one exam level, with coding challenges and quizzes that match it, so you're not just learning concepts, you're rehearsing them under exam conditions.

Are prices in my currency?

Prices are in US dollars, and your bank converts at checkout. Where regional pricing applies, the lower price shows on the cards automatically.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and credit card.

Is there a student or regional discount?

Regional pricing applies automatically in checkout. Students can write to team@certificates.dev with a student ID or student email.

Can I buy for my team?

Yes. Choose the teams option on the pricing cards to buy for your team at checkout. Each person gets their own voucher code by email, creates an account and redeems it to get access to what you bought. For larger teams, write to team@certificates.dev and we'll prepare a quotation and invoices for corporate purchases.
